Jurors witnessed the last moments between Jordan Henning, a former army man, and his wife, who was shot dead on her birthday, on the third day of the murder trial.
In June 2023, Henning is seen on camera shooting his wife, Ashley. The defense moved to have some parts of the footage excluded before it was shown in court. Judge Larry Ashlock overruled, stating that the defense and the Commonwealth equally depend on the footage.
Several cameras around the house captured the deadly incident between Jordan and Ashley. Before Jordan reaches for a gun, the jurors could see and hear the two fighting. She was allegedly shot five times by him.
Jordan left the room after the shooting, got another magazine, returned, and spat on Ashley’s body, according to the Commonwealth lawyer. The shooting is not being contested by Henning’s attorneys. Jordan snapped the day Ashley was shot, according to the defense, which centered their argument on domestic abuse.
Ashlock thinks that everything that happened before and after the shooting is significant because of the defense’s claims. Henning’s defense team protested the display of Ashley’s autopsy report in court on March 14.
